Our Balance and Falls Prevention will help you stay on your feet
Feeling a bit wobbly or just want to ensure you keep yourself vertical? Balance is an important aspect to our physical well being that often gets forgotten until something happens. Supervised exercise sessions that focus on your strength, balance and walking are proven to be the safest way to improve your confidence, balance and reduce your risk of falls.
Your initial assessment will include:
Discussion of your current and past medical history
Discussion and creation of particular goals and outcomes that we can work towards
Assessment of current strength and fitness which may include:
Short walking test to assess cardiovascular fitness
A combination of strength and balance tests to assess function
Additional power, range of motion and agility tests
Creation of a management plan which will be emailed through following your appointment
Subsequent consultations will include:
Pre- and post-exercise physiological measurements if appropriate (e.g. blood pressure, heart rate, blood glucose)
Delivery of an individualised program consisting of cardiovascular and strength-based exercises to improve overall function
Balance, proprioception and walking exercises delivered in a safe environment
Re-assessment of measures taken at your initial consultation to track your progress.
