Persistent Pain Physiotherapy Management

'An unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage or described in terms of such damage' - Definition of pain by the International Association for the Study of Pain

Persistent or chronic pain is a label that can be given to pain that lasts longer than three months. One of the key aspects of persistent pain is that it is no longer just a symptom of a pathology or injury process. The longer pain persists, the more complex it becomes in its construction, with the initial tissue damage having less contribution to the pain itself.
At Target Physio, our physiotherapists use evidence-based treatment to determine the best individualised care of your chronic pain. Using a combination of strategies that target biology, psychology and social elements of persistent pain, our physiotherapists work towards restoring function and alleviating pain.
