Have you ever been told you have or are at risk of developing Osteopenia or Osteoporosis?

Both are a form of loss of bone density, where the bones become a bit weaker, thinner and more fragile. Osteoporosis meaning a little more bone has been lost than Osteopenia.

The loss of bone mineral density is a part of ageing – without regular physical activity our bone density actually starts declining in our 20s! Fear not, Osteopenia and Osteoporosis are not diagnosis you “just have to accept”! A combination of strength and aerobic exercise has been shown to not only prevent the decline of bone density but improve it, no matter what you age!

Starting a strength and aerobic exercise program doesn’t mean you have to join a gym and start sweating it out like Arnold Schwarzenegger!

Target Physio Exercise Physiologists use the latest evidence-based exercise treatments to assess and prescribe your home exercise programs. Or if you do have a gym membership, they can write you a program there too!

So what will my Exercise Physiologist do?

We will start with an assessment of a variety of exercises to evaluate where you’re currently at in terms of your strength, aerobic fitness and balance.
We understand the thought of strength exercises may be overwhelming to some, we want to remove this concern.

We step you through every exercise, guiding you on how to do it using everyday household items that you can replicate at home, with exercise bands or even with dumbbells.

From this assessment, your Exercise Physiologist will develop an exercise program for you that suits you, fits into your lifestyle and targets your specific needs.

If you’ve been diagnosed with Osteoporosis or Osteopenia or have been told you’re “at risk” and you have a heartbeat, you have the chance to not only prevent the decline of your bone strength but improve it! Our Exercise Physiologist, Kelly not only wants to improve your bone density, but she wants to improve your quality of life – so you can do what you love for as long as possible!

We offer an Exercise Physiology training block deal: two appointments per week for 5 weeks and receive your tenth session HALF PRICE!

Target Physio Google Review

5 star review  Both Heather and Alex do wonderful firm manipulation of sore muscles. Been going for around 15 years couple times per week. Every physio over that time has been terrific.
