Running Strength for Performance Classes
Physiotherapist Liam Woollett delivers a class built for athletes playing sports that include any form of running. The class targets a mix of balance and proprioception, plyometric exercises, strength exercises, and conditioning for runners and sports involving running.
The class has a focus on single leg or split stance exercises in order to challenge the stability of the hips, knees, ankles and trunk muscles in order to deliver maximum performance on the sports field. The class is aimed to reduce injury risk, condition the body to absorb load better, and improve performance.
There are no criteria to attend this class. Athletes can range from a 50 year old who does Parkrun once a week, to football players at a club level, to elite runners competing at a state or national level.
